Volunteers

Register for volunteering with us!

Volunteering with CLASSS is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the community and to gain valuable experience in education and working with young people.

It is a great way to meet new people whilst also giving back to the local area and making a difference to our pupils.

You will be supported throughout your time here by the team, and thanks to kind contributions from High Speed Training, we also offer all volunteers free online training courses such as safeguarding and dyslexia awareness.

We also socialise together regularly outside of classes and have volunteer meetings to keep everyone in the loop.

If you have any questions about volunteering, or want to know more, please reach out to our Volunteer Coordinator, Haleema, who will be happy to help!

Volunteer Tutors

We’re currently looking for volunteer tutors to help with English and Maths classes. We have spaces available in all classrooms from Year 3 all the way up to Year 11. Volunteers come from different backgrounds; some are former teachers, some are training to be teachers, and some have never done any teaching before! No matter your experience level, if you are committed and can get on well with young people, you can make a difference at CLASSS. For more information email volunteering@classs.org.uk or apply below.

Reading Volunteers

In addition to our group classes, we provide one-to-one literacy practice for our pupils. Our reading volunteers take pupils out of classes for 15 minutes at a time to read one of the books from our CLASSS library. If you want to volunteer with children but prefer one-to-one support, being a reading volunteer is for you. For more information email volunteering@classs.org.uk or apply below.

Primary Classroom Leads

We’re looking for classroom leads to prepare English and Maths activities for our primary pupils. The classroom lead acts as a point of contact for the volunteers helping within the group and leads the session. This is a great opportunity for an aspiring teacher, former teacher or someone who confident leading activities for young children. For more information email volunteering@classs.org.uk or apply below.

Fundraising Assistants

We’re a small charity and we rely on the kind donations of our supporters. We’re looking for fundraising assistants to help write grant applications for our charity. Training will be provided and this can be ad hoc – even a few hours a month can make a big difference. If you’re interested, email James Whitley on fundraising@classs.org.uk or apply below.
